- No food or gum is allowed in any of the classrooms for students' safety. Water (in a closed bottle or container) is permitted. No soda, flavored beverages or juice, please.
- Regular attendance in scheduled classes is essential to each student's progress. We request that you notify the Academy prior to any absence in order for the student to be allowed to make up the missed class. Make-ups for absences are allowed during the current term in the same or a lower level class.
- Class time is a special time for focused learning, and students are expected arrive on time and to remain in class for the entire duration. Accordingly, please ensure that students have used the restroom just prior to entering the studio classroom. If a student is not feeling well, or has special medical needs, please notify the instructor before class begins.
- Many of our students, especially those with busy schedules or those preparing for upcoming auditions or performances, benefit from individual instruction in addition to regular group classes. Please contact the Academy Director for private lessons or coaching.
- A furnished waiting room is provided for parents while classes are in session. One-way windows also allow class viewing, but we ask that conversations be kept to a minimum in the hallways, as voices can carry and distract the students. During the last week of each term, parents are invited to sit in the classroom as an audience to support the learning process.
- We continue to evaluate our students' improvement and adjust our instruction accordingly. Formal evaluations for all students with recommendations for future study will be provided during the Spring term. To provide the best possible learning environment for all of our students, student placements are at the discretion of the Director.
- Our success in helping each child reach his/her potential depends on our partnership with their families. If your child has special physical or learning needs, please let the Academy Director know immediately. Any needs or concerns will be kept in the strictest confidence.
- Students are invited to participate in performances as long as they attend all regularly scheduled classes and the mandatory dress rehearsal. We provide amazing performance opportunities for our students and want these performances to be a positive aspect of their dance training. Group pieces require all class members to practice together to ensure success for all on stage; therefore, students with unsatisfactory attendance or students who do not demonstrate mastery of the choreography in the weeks prior to the dress rehearsal may not perform on stage with their class, at the discretion of the faculty.
A full listing of our policies may be obtained at the Academy.
